Kadgi Phodi



Raw jackfruitt is called KADGI in Konkani and HALASINAKAYI in Kannada. Phodi means fritters in konkani.
INGREDIENTS:
Raw jackfruit cut into slices 10 nos
Oil for deep frying
 for the marination:
5 blsp rice flour
1 tsp asafoetida powder
8 tsp chilli powder
Salt to taste
Make a paste of above ingredients using water

PROCEDURE:

  • Boil the jackfuit slices in water and salt for 10 minutes 
  • Strain it and make it cool 
  • Marinate with the chilli paste
  • Roll the slices in rice flour and deep fry into golden brown colour crisp fritters.
  • Serve with rice and dal
