Tomato Carrot Rice


2 cups basmati rice
2 chopped carrot
2 tomatoes
2 green chillies
5 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp haldi powder(turmeric powder)
1 tsp biryani masala
5 tsp oil
Salt to taste


  • Make a paste of chopped tomatoes ,green chillies,garlic and keep 
  • In cooker take oil ,add onion slices and saute for 5 minutes
  • Add ground paste and fry well
  • Add Haldi, biryani masala, and fry
  • Put rice and chopped carrot and stir
  • Add salt,3 1/2 cups of water and cover the lid 
  • After 2 whistles switch off the gas 
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with raita
