Biscuit Rotti


Biscuit Rotti is a Mangalorean style kachori ,which is very popular in Mangalore.this is a crisp poori/rotti  with coconut filling.In mangalore this is served for breakfast or as evening snack in GSB cuisine.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup maida (all purpose flour)
3 tsp chiroti rava(fine rava)
3 tsp hot oil
Salt to taste
Water  as required

For stuffing:
1/2 cup grated fresh coconut
3 green chillies
3 tsp urad dal
1/2 tsp asafoetida powder
1 tsp mustard
3 tsp chopped curry leaves
3 tsp fine rava
2 tsp besan
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp oil + oil for deep frying

PROCEDURE:

  • Knead a tight dough using the above ingredients and keep
  • Grind coarsely grated coconut and green chillies
  • In a pan heat oil and add mustard
  • When it splutters ,add curry leaves,urad dal,chilli powder, asafoetida and fry till it becomes light brown
  • Add coconut mixture,rava,besan,salt to taste and fry for 5 minutes
  • Devide the dough into equal parts andmake lemon size balls
  • Roll it into a poori and keep 3 tsp of filling and cover it 
  • Roll it into a thick poori and deep fry
