Corn Rice 2


2 cups basmati rice
2 sliced onions
Little turmeric powder
1/2 cup corn kernels
1 chopped carrot
1/4 cup green peas
6 tsp oil
salt to taste
chopped coriander leaves

for masala:
1/2 onion,4 garlic cloves,1/2 inch ginger,2-3 green chillies,1clove,1/2 inch cinnamon,1 tsp jeera
grind the above into a fine paste


  • In cooker heat oil and saute sliced onion for 5 minutes
  • Add masala and fry for 5 minutes
  • Add lil turmeric powder and rice and fry for 3-4 minutes
  • Put  veggies,salt to taste and 3 1/2 cups of water and close the lid
  • switch off the gas after 2 whistles
  • Open the lid when steam is released and garnish rice with chopped coriander leaves
