Idli Chilli


INGREDIENTS:

3 idlis cut into cubes (I've used mini idlis)
 FOR THE BATTER:
5 tsp corn flour
2 tsp rice flour
2 tsp maida
Salt to taste
Make a thick batter with water  as needed  and keep aside
Oil for deep frying

FOR THE SAUCE:
4 tsp oil
2 onions chopped
1 finely chopped green chilli
1/2 inch ginger finely chopped
6 garlic cloves finely chopped
2 tsp tomato sauce
2 tsp soya sauce
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp vinegar
2 tsp CHING'S CHILLI MARACLE MASALA powder
2 tsp corn flour mixed in 1/4 cup water
Salt to taste
Chopped spring onion greens for garnishing

PROCEDURE:

  • Heat oil ,dip the idli pieces in the batter and deep fry
  • In a pan heat oil and saute chopped ginger,garlic,green chilli  till light  brown
  • add onions chopped and saute till it becomes translucent
  • add all the sauces,vinegar,chilli powder,ching's masala 
  • Put the corn flour slurry and mix well
  • When the gravy becomes thick add salt to taste and deep fried idlis 
  • Toss well and garnish with chopped spring oniongreens
  • Serve hot with any rice
