Surna Talasani

This is a very simple stir fry of sooran/Yam/ Elephant foot in perfect Konkani Style!!  Tempered with dry red chillies and lots of garlic ,this dish tastes very yummy with dal and rice!!

2 cups sooran cut into fine juliens
4 dry red chillies
1 chopped tomato
10 crushed /chopped garlic cloves
3 tsp oil
Salt to taste

  • In cooker heat oil ,add garlic crushed and fry till brown in colour
  • Put broken red cillies,tomato and fry for a minute
  • Add cut sooran,salt and 1/4 cup water and close the lid of cooker
  • Switch off the gas after 2 whistles
  • Serve hot with rice   
Note: you can  prepare this in kadai  too ,but as it takes lot of time I always prepare all the such upkari/stir fry in cooker only!!
