Tomato Bhaath


INGREDIENTS:
3 cups cooked rice
3-4 medium sized  tomatoes
1 tblsp ghee/ oil

Masala powder ingredients:
1 tsp coriander seed
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp khus khus/poppy seeds
2 tsp roasted chana dal/ daalia
2 dry red chillies

Tempering ingredients:
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp asafoetida pdr
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
curry leaves
Salt to taste

PROCEDURE:

  • In a pan dry roast  the masala ingredients and make fine powder
  • Heat ghee / oil and add the tempering ingredients and fry
  • Add the chopped tomatoes ,mix well, cover and cook till it becomes soft and pulpy
  • Add 3 tsp masala powder to the tomato mixture and give a nice stir
  • Add cooked rice ,salt and mix well
  • Serve with raita!!
