Dry Mackarel Ghashi

2 dried mackarels/ bangude/ raju
Salt to taste
6-8 crushed garlic cloves (with skin)
3 tsp coconut oil

3/4 cup grated fresh coconut
4-5 dry red chillies roasted in 1/2 tsp oil
Little tamarind 
Grind the above ingredients into a fine paste and keep aside


  • Cut and clean the fish well 
  • Add masala and little water ,adjust the consistency (semi thick gravy)
  • Add salt to taste (be careful while adding salt because the fish already has salt)
  • Add crushed garlic cloves ,coconut oil and make it boil for 10 mins
  • Serve hot with rice and enjoy !!!
