Masala bhaat 2



INGREDIENTS:
1 cup basmati rice 
7 tsp oil / ghee
2 sliced onions
1 cup veggies chopped like,gobi,carrot,beans,potato and green peas
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
Salt to taste
2 tsp lime juice
chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

MAKE PASTE OF:
2 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp fennel seeds/ saunf
2 cloves
1 black cardamom
1/2 inch cinnamon
1 star anise
1/2 inch ginger
5 garlic cloves
1/4 cup coriander leaves
5 mint leaves
5 pepper corns
2 green chillies
Grind into a fine paste and keep aside

PROCEDURE:

  • Wash rice and soak in water for 20 mins
  • Heat oil in cooker,saute onion slices till light pink in colour
  • Add the masala and fry for 5 mins
  • Drain water from rice and add to it ,fry for 2-3 mins
  • Add the chopped veggies,salt ,turmeric pdr and mix well
  • Add 1 1/2 cups water and close the cooker lid
  • Switch off the gas after 2 whistles
  • Once the steam is released ,open the lid,add lime juice,coriander leaves and mix well
  • Serve hot with raita!!
