Aalu Gobi Stir Fry


INGREDIENTS:
1 medium sized potato cut into small pieces
2 cups gobi/cauliflower cut into small florets
Salt to taste
4 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
4-5 methi/fenugreek seeds
1/4 tsp hing/asafoetida pdr
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
1/2 tsp red chilli pdr
1 slit green chilli
Chopped coriander leaves

PROCEDURE:

  • Put the cut gobi and aloo in water  ,add salt and keep for 5-10 mins
  • Wash  aloo and gobi and drain water from it,keep aside
  • In a thick bottomed pan heat oil,add mustard,when it starts crackling,add methi seeds,,hing,green chilli ,haldi and fry for a second
  • Add gobi ,aloo,salt to taste and cook with a lid covered
  • Once it is almost cooked add red chilli pdr and toss well
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves,serve hot with white rice or roti..
  • If you want to have this with roti then  add little garam masala powder !!!
