Beetroot Barfi


THIS RECIPE BELONGS TO HILDA  MASCARENHAS !! THANKU HILDA FOR THE WONDERFUL RECIPE !!!

INGREDIENTS:
3 beetroots
100 gms khova/ khoya
2 tblsp ghee
2 tblsp condensed milk(optional)
150 gms sugar or to taste
1 tsp green cardamom pdr

PROCEDURE:

  • Wash peel and grate beetroot 
  • In a thick bottomed pan roast crumbled khova till light pink and fragrant,transfer it into a bowl
  • In the same pan melt ghee ,add grated beetroot and saute until almost dry
  • Add sugar and cook further until moisture evaporates
  • Stir in the roasted khoya and mix until well blended
  • When beetroot mixture is sufficiently thick add condensed milk if you are using it
  • Add cardamoom pdr,stir well till it leaves the sides of the pan
  • Pour the mixture on a greased tray ,spread evenly to desired thickness
  • Decorate with nuts,let it cool completely,then transfer it into the fridge
  • Once it is completely set ,cut into desired shapes
  • Enjoy the beetroot barfis!!!
