Peas Pulav with Chilli Chicken

Peas Pulav Ingredients:
1 cup basmati rice,washed and soaked in water for 20 mins
1/4 cup fresh green peas
5-6 tsp ghee/ oil
1 sliced onion
1 slit green chilli
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp cumin seeds/ jeera
1 small piece cinnamon/ dalchini
2 cloves/ lavang
1 bay leaf/ tejpatta
1 cardamom/ elaichi
1/2 tsp shahi jeera
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander leaves


  • In cooker heat oil/ ghee ,add all the whole garam  masala and fry for a minute
  • Now drop in the sliced onion and green chilli and fry until the onion becomes translucent
  • Add the ginger garlic paste and fry well, followed by the green peas
  • Drain water from the soaked  rice and add to it and fry for 5 mins
  • Add the salt to taste, 1.5 cups of water and mix well and cook for 2 whistles
  • Once the steam is released ,open the cooker,fluff up the rice and garnish with chopped coriander leaves!!
Chilli Chicken Ingredients:
250 gms boneless chicken  washed and cut into small pieces
1 tblsp ginger garlic paste
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp pepper pdr
1/2 tsp vinegar
1 egg
1tblsp maida
2 tblsp corn flour
Mix all these and marinate the chicken pieces, refrigerate it for 20 mins and then deep fry it and keep aside

1 tblsp oil
1 onion cut into big chunks and layers separated
1/4 cup finely chopped garlic
1 inch ginger finely chopped
2 tblsp  chopped cellery 
6-7 slit green chillies
1/2 cup capsicum cut into chunks
1 tblsp red chilli sauce
2 tblsp soya sauce
2 tblsp spring onions chopped
1/2 tsp vinegar
Pinch of sugar
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp pepper pdr
2 tsp corn flour diluted in 1/4 cup water

  • Heat oil,saute garlic chopped till light brown,add ginger and onion petals and fry on a high flame till transparent
  • Now drop in green chillies,capsicum and fry for a minute
  • Add cellery and spring onions chopped and toss for a second
  • Now put the red chilli sauce,soya sauce,vinegar and mix well
  • Add the pepper pdr,sugar and salt  ,mix well
  • add the corn flour slurry and stir continuously till it thickens
  • Add the fried chicken and toss well till the chicken pieces are well coated with the sauce
  • Finally garnish with spring onions and serve with rice or noodles!!!
