Tendle Fry/ Gerkin Stir Fry


INGREDIENTS:
250 gms tendle / gerkins
5 -6tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
10 garlic cloves crushed
1 tsp red chilli powder or according to your taste
Salt to taste

PROCEDURE:

  • Washand cut the ends of gerkins,slit into 6 or 4 pieces (lengthwise)
  • Apply salt and keep aside for 15 mins
  • Heat oil in a pan,add mustard,when it starts crackling add crushed garlic and fry till it becomes brown
  • Add the gerkins and cook on a medium flame covered with a lid till it is cooked
  • Once it is cooked add red chilli pdr and fry for 5 mins and turn off the flame
  • Serve hot with dal and rice
  • To save the cooking time you can cook tendle in cooker for only one whistle and then add into the tempering
  • For the good results use cast iron kadayi.
