Onion Chutney with Idli
INGREDIENTS:
1 large onion
1/2 tomato
1 tsp oil
5-6 red chillies
4 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp cumin seeds/ jeera
1 tsp tamarind
Salt to taste
for tempering:
1 tsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard
curry leaves
1 red chilli
PROCEDURE:
- Peel,chop onion and tomato
- In a pan heat oil add cumin seedsand allow to crack,add red chillies,garlic and saute
- Add chopped onion and fry until light brown.
- Add tomato and saute for 2-3 mins
- Turn off the flame and allow it to cool
- Grind with salt ,tamarind into a fine paste adding water if required
- Temper with the mentioned ingredients
- Serve with dosa,idli or rotis.
