Onion Chutney with Idli


INGREDIENTS:
1 large onion
1/2 tomato
1 tsp oil
5-6 red chillies
4 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp cumin seeds/ jeera
1 tsp tamarind
Salt to taste


for tempering:
1 tsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard
curry leaves
1 red chilli


PROCEDURE:

  • Peel,chop onion and tomato
  • In a pan heat oil add cumin seedsand allow to crack,add red chillies,garlic and saute
  • Add chopped onion and fry until light brown. 
  • Add tomato and saute for 2-3 mins
  • Turn off the flame and allow it to cool
  • Grind with salt ,tamarind into a fine paste adding water if required
  • Temper with the mentioned ingredients
  • Serve with dosa,idli or rotis.
