Hara Bhara Sabz Pulav
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup basmati rice
6 tsp oil or ghee
1 big onion sliced
1/4 cup green peas
10 french beans chopped
1 tsp biryani masala pdr
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
Salt to taste
1 tsp lemon juice
Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
FOR THE GREEN MASALA PASTE:
5-6 palak / spinach leaves
2 green chillies
1/2 inch ginger
5-6 garlic cloves
1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
5 mint leaves
2 cloves/lavang
1/2 inch cinnamon/ dalchini
Grind the above ingredients into a fine paste and keep aside
PROCEDURE:
- Wash and soak rice in water for 20 mins
- In cooker heat oil,add sliced onions and saute till they turn transparent
- Now add the masala paste and fry till raw smell goes
- Add the veggies,spice powders and fry for 5 mins
- Drain water from the ice and drop it into the cooker,fry for 5 mins
- Add salt to taste,lemon juice and 1.5 cups water
- Close the lid of the cooker and cook for 2 whistles
- Once the steam is released open the lid and mix the pulav gently
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with raita.
