Achari Palak Corn pulav
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup basmati rice
6 tsp ghee or oil
1/2 cup corn kernels
6-8 finely slice palak / spinach leaves
2 finely sliced onions
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 slit green chillies
1 sp turmeric pdr
2 tsp achar ka masala powder or any achar / pickle(use only masala)
1 tsp garam masala powder (I used chana masala powder)
Salt to taste
Chopped coriaander leaves
PROCEDURE:
- Wash and soak rice in water for 20 mins
- Heat oil / ghee in cooker, add sliced onions and saute till they turn translucent
- Put slit green chillies, ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes
- Add turmeric powder, garam masala , achari masala and saute for a second
- Put chopped palak and corn kernels with little salt and toss for a second
- Drain water from the rice and add to the masala and fry for 5 mins
- Add salt to taste , mix well . Put 1.5 cups of water and close the lid
- Cook for 2 whistles, turn off the flame
- Once the steam is released open the cooker, gently mix with a fork and garnish with chopped coriander leaves
- Serve hot pulav with any raita of your choice.
