Tondekayi Palya



INGREDIENTS:

250 gms tondekai
3 tsp oil
curry leaves
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp urad dal
2 tsp sambar powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp tamatind pulp
Salt to taste
Little jaggery (optional)

PROCEDURE:


  • Grind coconut with sambar powder  and tamarind to a coarse masala
  • Take oil in kadai add mustard
  • When it crackles add curry leaves,urad dal,turmeric powder
  • Add gerkins cut into  4 pieces(lengthwise)
  • Add little water, cover with lid and cook it
  • When it is cooked add masala , salt to taste and stir well
  • Serve with roti or rice
