Prawn Ghee Roast


INGREDIENTS:

Prawns 1/2 kg
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup curd
1 tbsp pepper powder
Marinate the prawns with these ingredients and refrigerate for 1 hour

For masala:
18 long red chillies (kashmiri chillies)
1/2 tsp jeera
 5 garlic cloves
1/4 tsp tamarind

PROCEDURE:

  • Dry roast red chillies for 2-3 minutes and grind to a fine paste with other ingredients
  • Take 3 tblsp ghee in a pan and fry masala in it till the raw smell goes (for 5- 10 minutes)
  • Add the marinated prawns and cook covered till it is done
  • Serve hot with any rice

    One silly question, why is it called Ghee roast if this is not roasted in Ghee?
