Ambya ghashi

This typical Konkani dish is prepared with a small variety of mangoes called  GOINT in Konkani!!
Mango is called AMBO in Konkani and any  coconut based curry is called GHASHI !!

INGREDIENTS:
4 mangoes of small variety 
Salt to taste
Jaggery to taste
 
FOR THE MASALA PASTE:
In 1/2 tsp oil roast 3 red chillies,2 tsp urad dal till brown in colour and grind with
1 cup fresh grated coconut,little tamarind into a little coarse masala

FOR THE TEMPERING:
2 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
curry leaves

PROCEDURE:
  • Wash the mangoes and make 3-4 cuts on it
  • Put the mangoes in a vessel with 1 cup water and cook 
  • When it is almost cooked add salt , jaggery   and masala and make it boil for 10 mins
  • Temper with the ingredients
