Urad + Maida Dosa

1 cup ured dal /Skinless split  white lentils
2 cups maida
2 tblsp rice flour
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking


  • Soak dal in water for 5-6 hrs ,wash and grind into a fine paste
  • Keep the ground dal overnight for fermentation
  • Next day ,in the morning mix maida and rice flour in water and make a semi thick paste
  • add to the fermewnted urad dal batter 
  • add salt and water if necessary
  • Heat tava and make thin dosas
  • Cook on both the sides
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney
  • If you are making it on upvas /fasting days then add only maida to the urad batter
