Papdi


Papdis are small ,crispy ,deep fried pooris ,used in most of the chaat snacks like papdi chaat,sav puri, dahi bhalla, Bhel puri, Sookha bhel etc..You can also have it with hot coffee or tea.You can store it in an airtight containers and use .

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup maida
1 tblsp oil
Salt to taste
1 tsp ajwain/ carom seeds
Oil for deep frying

PROCEDURE:

  • Take maida,salt,carrom seeds and 1 tblsp oil in a bowl
  • Rub oil and flour with your fingertips till everything is mixed well, and you get a bread crumbs consistency
  • Add water and make a smooth  and tight  dough,and keep covered for 20 mins
  • Knead the dough again and devide into portions,make small balls
  • Roll into medium thick pooris,prick with a fork and deep fry into crisp pooris
