Alsande bee kooka bendi

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup alsande bee/ lobhiya/ black eyed beans
1/4 cup kooka/ chinese potato ,peeled and cut into cubes
Salt to taste
FOR THE MASALA:
3/4 cup grated coconut
little tamarind
3-4 red chillies roasted in 1/2 tsp oil
Grind these into a fine paste and keep
FOR THE TEMPERING:
4-5 tsp oil
10 garlic cloves crushed

PROCEDURE:

  • Soak beans in enough water for 4-5 hrs,and cook in cooker with chinese potato cubes, 1 cup water  for 3-4 whistles or till it is cooked well
  • Transfer cooked beans and chinese potato in a broad vessel,add salt ,masala paste and water if needed and adjust the consistency of the curry (semi thick) according to your taste
  • Make it boil for 5-10 mins
  • Take oil in a pan and fry the crushed garlic till it becomes brown
  • Add this tempering to the prepared curry and mix well
  • Serve hot with rice!!!
