Palak Poori with Malwani Matar


INGREDIENTS:
FOR PALAK POORI:
1/2 cup roughly chopped palak / spinach leaves
3/4 cup wheat flour
salt to taste
Water as needed to knead the dough
Oil for frying

PROCEDURE:
  • Blanch palak leaves ,drain the water and make paste of it
  • Take flour,salt in a bowl,add the palak paste and water to make a smooth doughas we make for pooris
  • Make small balls and roll into pooris
  • Heat oil and deep fry pooris on a medium flame, transfer it on tissue paper 
  • Serve hot with any sabji of your choice
MALWANI MATAR INGREDIENTS:
1 cup boiled fresh green peas 
1 potato cubed
5 tsp oil
1 tsp jeera
2 finely chopped onions
1 finely chopped tomato
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp kasuri methi
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
2 tsp malwani masala pdr or garam masala
3 tsp besan / bengal gram flour
Saltto taste
Chopped coriander leaves

PROCEDURE:
  • Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan,put potato cubes with little salt and cook till its outer cover is browned or till it is cooked
  • Remove it on a plate and add the remaining oil in the same pan
  • Add jeera,kasuri methi , chopped onions and fry till light brown,add the finely chopped tomato and cook till it becomes pulpy
  • Now add the ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell goes
  • Add the turmeric pdr,malwani masala pdr and fry for a second
  • Put besan and fry for 2 mins,followed by boiled peas,cooked potatoes ,salt  and 1/2 cup water
  • Let it boil for 5 mins,garnish with chopped coriander leaves 
  • Serve hot with poori,chapath or naan etc.
