Avarekaalu Halasina kayi Huli / Hyacinth beans Raw jackfruit Sambar



INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup boiled toor dal
1/2 cup  avarekaalu / hyacinth beans
1 cup halasina kayi / raw jack fruit pieces
1 chopped tomato
Chopped coriander leaves
Salt to taste

TO BE GROUND TO PASTE:
3 tblsp fresh grated coconut
3-4 tsp Huli powder
lil tamarind

FOR THE TEMPERING:
3 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
1 sprig of curry leaf
1/2 tsp hing/ asafoetida

PROCEDURE:

  • Cook  beans , chopped tomato and raw jackfruit pieces with little salt and 1/2 cup water in cooker for 2  whistles
  • Transfer the boiled dal and boiled veggies in a vessel, put salt to taste,ground masala and water as needed
  • Make it boil  and temper with the ingredients
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
  • Serve hot with rice!!
