Bhindi Saung
INGREDIENTS:
250 gms bhindi (okra/lady finger)
2 tsp +4 tsp oil
3 finely chopped onions
1 finely chopped tomato
3 tsp chilli powder
Salt to taste
PROCEDURE:
- Wash and wipe bhindis and cut into 1 inch pieces
- In a pan put 2 tsp oil and fry bhindi pieces with little salt
- Keep covered till bhindi is cooked
- Transfer it in a bowl
- In the same pan put the remaining oil and fry 1/2 portion of chopped onion till dark brown in colour
- Add the remaining onion andfry for 5 minutes
- Put the chopped tomato and fry till it becomes soft
- Add chilli powder and fry for 2 minutes
- Put the fried bhindis ,salt to taste and sprinkle littlewater and cook for 5 miutes
- You can also use tamarind pulp instead of tomato
