Tomato Rice 2


INGREDIENTS:
2 cups Basmati rice
2 tomatoes (make puree)
2 onions sliced
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
3 green chillies
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
5 tsp oil
Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
PROCEDURE:

  • In cooker  heat oil and saute onion slices till translucent
  • Add slit green chillies , ginger garlic paste  and fry for 2 minutes
  • Add tomato puree and fry for 3 minutes
  • Put turmeric powder,garam masala and chilli powder
  • Add washed rice and fry for 5 minutes
  • Add 3 1/2 cups of water and salt to taste and close the cooker lid
  • After 2 whistles switch off the gas
  • When steam  is released open the lid and mix rice gently with a fork
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with any raitha
