Green Pulav


This yummy pulav recipe belongs to my FB friend SHYAMALA KINI!! Thanks a lot Shyamala !! Wonderful recipe , so thought of sharing it with all of you !! She has used cooked rice in the recipe, but I 've prepared this directly in the cooker!!
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup basmati rice
2 sliced onions
1/4 cup green peas
1/4 cup cauliflower florets
1 finely chopped carrot
5-6 tsp oil or ghee
2 cloves
1/2 inch cinnamon
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnishing
2 fresh bread slices cut into cubes and deep fried
Oil for deep frying bread

FOR THE MASALA:
1/2  cup coriander leaves
1/2 inch ginger
5 garlic cloves
3 green chillies
Make a fine paste amd keep aside.

PROCEDURE:

  • In cooker heat oil or ghee and saute clove,cinnamon and slices onion till onion becomes transparent
  • Add ground masala and fry till the raw smell goes
  • Add turmeric powder, rice and fry for 5 minutes
  • Put veggies ,salt to taste and 1 1/2 cups water
  • Mix well and close the lid of cooker
  • After 2 whistles switch off the gas
  • After the steam is released apen the lid and gently mix the pulav with a fork 
  • Serve hot with fried bread pieces and chopped coriander leaves
