Achaari Chana Pulav
1 cup basmati rice
1/4 cup soaked and cooked kabuli chana
2 onions sliced
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp KITCHEN KING MASALA or Biryani masala
1/2 tsp shahi jeera
2 cloves(lavang)
1/2 inch cinnamon(dalchini)
1 bay leaf
5-6 tsp ghee or oil
salt to taste
Chopped coriander leaves
FOR MASALA:
grind 2 tblsp chopped onion and 2 tblsp pickle(I've used avakai pickle)
PROCEDURE:
- In cooker heat oil or ghee and put whole garam masalas and fry for 2 minutes
- Add onion slices and saute for 5 minutes
- Put the masala and fry for 3 minutes
- Add all powders,rice and fry for 5 minutes
- put the boiled chana,salt to taste and 1 1/2 cups water and close the lid
- After 2 whistles switch off the gas
- Release the steam in between 2 times ,raising the whistle
- After opening the lid mix gently with a fork and garish with chopped coriander leaves
- Serve with any raita
