Cabbage Palya


INGREDIENTS:
2 cups finely chopped cabbage
3 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
2 tsp chana dal
1 tsp urad dal
1 sprig curry leaf
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Few chopped coriander leaves
FOR MASALA:
3 tblsp fresh grated coconut
1 1/2 tsp chilli powder or 3 red chillies
1/2 tsp mustard
1 tsp cumin seeds
Make a coarse powder of the above ingredients.

PROCEDURE:

  • In a kadai heat oil and temper all the ingredients
  • Add cabbage,salt and sprinkle little water
  • Cover with a lid and cook 
  • When it is almost cooked add the masala and toss well
  • Cook for another 5 minutes
  • Serve hot with roti or rice
