Kharvas/ ginnu


Kharvas (Marathi),Ginnu (Kannada), Posu (Konkani) is a dessert made with cholestrum milk ...Usually it is prepared with the cow's milk  that we get  on the first day of cow's delivery ...This is one of my favourite sweet ,but we cant get the cholestrum milk always ..So tried this easy version  !!
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cup full fat milk 
1 cup condensed milk
1 cup fresh  Curds/ yogurt
3/4 cup Milk powder
1 tsp cardamom pdr
4-5 strands of kesar/saffron

PROCEDURE:

  • In a bowl mix all the ingredients and blend it in a mixer jar for only 2 mins
  • Put in a bowl and steam it for 20- 25 mins in cooker without whistle 
  • Let it sit for 3-4 hrs before serving
  • Keep in the fridge  and serve chilled!!
Note:This version is a bit watery than the traditional version!!
