Saag Chole


INGREDIENTS:
1 cup soaked chic peas/ kabuli chana
5-6 tsp oil
2 chopped onions
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 chopped tomato
1 chopped green chilli
1/4 cup chopped spinach/palak
1/4 cup chopped methi/fenugreek leaves
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
2 tsp red chilli pdr
1 tsp chole masala
1/2 tsp daniya/coriander pdr
1/2 tsp jeera/cumin pdr
2 tblsp curd
2 tblsp fresh cream 
chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Salt to taste

PROCEDURE:

  • Cook soaked chana with 1 cup water for 4-5 whistles or till it becomes soft
  • In a pan heat oil and saute chopped onions and green chillies 
  • Once the onion becomes translucent add ginger garlic paste and fry
  • Put the chopped tomato anfd fry till it becomes pulpy
  • Add spinach and methi leaves and saute for 5 mins
  • Add salt and all the spice powders and fry for 2 mins
  • Put boiled chana and 1/2 cup water ,make it boil
  • Add curd and cream and give one boil
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with poori or phulkas !!
