Instant poha idli




INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cup idli rava/ rice rava
1 cup poha/ beaten rice/ avalakki(thin variety)
1 cup sour curd/ buttermilk
a pinch of baking soda(optional)
Water as required
Salt to taste

PROCEDURE:

  • Wash and soak poha in curds for 5mins.
  • Since it is thin variety it will become mushy,mash it nicely
  • Add rice rava ,soda and salt to taste
  • Mix well and allow to sit for 10 minsPoha and rava will absorb all the water content
  • Add water as required and get idli batter consistency
  • Your idli batter is ready to use, no fermentation is required
  • Heat idli steamer or cooker,grease the idli moulds n fill them with the batter
  • Steam for 12 to 15 mins
  • serve hot with chutney or sambar
