Kadi pattha Rasam


INGREDIENTS:
Ingredients to be roasted and to be ground:
1 tsp chana dal/ bengal gram 
1 tsp coriander seeds/ daniya
1/2 tsp cumin seeds/ jeera and curry leaves
5 fenugreek seeds/ methi
6- 7 pepper corns
Little hing/ asafoetida
4-5 sprigs of curry leaves
3 tsp grated coconut
3-4 red chillies
Roast all these in 2 tsp oil till coconut turns golden brown and grind with little tamarind ,into a fine paste

PROCEDURE:

  • Put the masala paste in a vessel, dilute it adding water according to your taste
  • Add salt to taste and little jaggery
  • Let it boil for 5-10 mins, turn off the flame
  • Temper with  mustard and curry leaves
  • Serve hot with hot rice and papad.
