Mallige Idli


INGREDIENTS:

1 cup whole urad dal
3 cups idli rice
1 cup cooked rice
1 cup poha(beaten rice)
Salt to taste

PROCEDURE:

  • Soak urad dal  and rice separately for 5-6 hours
  • Grind dal in grinder into a fine paste
  • Grind rice in mixer with poha and cooked rice (little coarse paste)
  • Mix both the batters and keep overnight
  • In the morning add salt to taste and steam  the idlis
  • Serve hot with sambar or chutney
You can also prepare thin dosa with the same batter
