Mallige Idli
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup whole urad dal
3 cups idli rice
1 cup cooked rice
1 cup poha(beaten rice)
Salt to taste
PROCEDURE:
- Soak urad dal and rice separately for 5-6 hours
- Grind dal in grinder into a fine paste
- Grind rice in mixer with poha and cooked rice (little coarse paste)
- Mix both the batters and keep overnight
- In the morning add salt to taste and steam the idlis
- Serve hot with sambar or chutney
You can also prepare thin dosa with the same batter
