Andhra rasam
:
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup toor dal
2 tomatoes
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp tamarind pulp
1/2 tsp pepper corns
2 tsp cumin seeds
5 garlic cloves
Salt to taste
2 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
curry leaves
Coriander leaves
PROCEDURE:
- In cooker put toor dal,chopped tomatoes and turmeric powder with 3 cups of water and take 4-5 whistles
- Open the lid and transfer it into a vessel and blend it little
- Dry roast cumin and pepper corns and crush with garlic
- Add this to rasam with tamarind pulp and make it boil
- Add salt to taste and temper with mustard and curry leaves
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
- Serve hot with rice and papad
