Baby Corn Biryani

1 cup  basmati rice
6 babycorn slit lengthwise
1/4 cup green peas
2 sliced onions
whole garam masala  like,2 cloves,cinnamon,1 cardamom,1 bay leaf
5 tsp ghee or oil
Salt to taste Chopped coriander and mint leaves for garnishing

For green paste:
3 tblsp coriander leaves
1 tblsp mint leaves
2-3 green chillies
3 garlic cloves
1/2 inch ginger
grind the above into a fine paste

For marination:
Marinate the slit corn and green peas with green paste,1/4 cup curd,1/2 tsp turmeric pdr,1/2 tsp red chilli pdr,1 tsp biryani masala ,salt and keep for 15 mins


  • In cooker  heat oil add whole garam masala ,onion slices and saute for 5 minutes
  • Put the marinated corn and peas and fry for 5 minutes
  • Put the soaked rice and fry for some time
  • Add salt to taste,1 1/2 cups water and close the lid
  • Switch off the gas after 2 whistles
  • After the steam is released Gently mix with a fork and garnish with fried onion slices,cashew nuts ,chopped coriander and mint leaves
  • Serve hot with raita
