Avnas Ambe Sasam

Avnas Ambe Sasam / Pineapple and mango  coconut based curry is a typical Konkani dish.Any Konkani wedding lunch  is incomplete without this dish. This is a sweet curry  goes well with rice and the masala is not cooked.Tastes very yummy and its my favourite too !!

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup chopped mango pieces (take any pulpy variety)
1/2 cup chopped pineapple
black grapes few (optional)
Sugar and salt to taste

FOR THE MASALA:
1 1/2 cups fresh grated coconut
1 tsp mustard
1 red chilli roasted
Grind this to a fine paste

PROCEDURE:
  • In a bowl take chopped pineapple ,1/4 cup water and sugar 
  • Cook it for 10 mins and cool it
  • Now mix cooked,cooled pineapple,mango pieces,pinch salt and masala 
  • Serve with rice
