Mushroom Sukkha with Idli



INGREDIENTS:
1 packet  of mushrooms
2 finely chopped onions
curry leaves
6 tsp oil
1 slit green chilli
Salt to taste

FOR THE MASALA  NO 1:
2 tsp coriander/ daniya seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
4-5 methi/ fenugreek seeds
5 pepper corns
5 red chillies
Roast the above ingredients in 1 tsp oil till nice aroma comes
Take 1/2 cup grated coconut,lil tamarind and grind with roasted spices into a fine paste

MASALA NO 2:
 Take fresh 1/2 cup coconut,5 garlic cloves,1 tsp cumin seeds and run the mixer only for a second (this masla should be very coarse)

PROCEDURE:

  • Wash the mushrooms and cut into four pieces
  • In a pan heat oil .add curry leaves,chopped onions and green chillies
  • Fry till onion becomes transparent,add the masala no 1 and fry for 5 mins
  • Add mushrooms,salt and 1/2 cup water and cook till mushrooms are cooked
  • add second masala ,cook for another 5 mins and mix well
  • Serve hot with roti,rice dosa or idli and enjoy!!
  • You can substitute mushrooms with prawns,chicken !!
