Crispy Cup Dosa

Special thanks o chef Tarla Dalal ji for this dosa recipe :)

1 cup urad dal (  split black lentils)
1 cup chana dal (Split bengal gram)
1 cup besan(bengal gram flour)
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking


  • Soak urad dal and chana dal in water for 5-6 hrs,wash and grind to a smooth batter using approximately 1 1/2 cups water and keep overnight for fermentation
  • Once the batter is fermented add besan mixed in little water,salt to the dal mixture ,mix well so that no lumps remain
  • Heat dosa pan,and make thin dosas ,smeared with 2 tsp oil or ghee
  • Cook on a medium flame till dosa becomes brown and crisp
  • No need to cook other side,serve hot with chutney or sambar!!
