Moong Sprout Pulav


INGREDIENTS:
1 cup basmati rice washed,soaked in water for 20 mins
6 tsp oil
2 onions sliced
1/2 cup moong sprouts
2 tblsp sweet corn
1 small carrot chopped
2 lavang
1 bay leaf
cinnamon 1/2 inch
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
1 tsp biryani masala or garam masala pdr
Salt to taste
1 tsp lime juice
Chopped coriander leaves
4-5 mint leaves

FOR THE MASALA PASTE:
In 1 tsp oil saute 2 tblsp chopped onion,2 green chillies,1/2 inch ginger,little coriander leaves for 2-3 mins and grind into a fine paste

PROCEDURE:

  • In a cooker take oil ,add lavang,cinnamon, bay leaf ,chopped onions and saute till transparent
  • Add ,turmeric pdr,masala paste and fry for 5 mins,followed by garam masala 
  • Drain water from the soaked rice and add to the fried masala,fry the rice for 5 mins
  • Add chopped carrot,sweet corn and moong sprouts,salt to taste and mix well
  • Add 1.5 cups water ,lime juice and mix again and cover the lid
  • Cook for two whistles and switch off the gas
  • Garnish the rice with chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves!!!
