Raw mango Udid Methi (sweet curry)
INGREDIENTS:
1 medium sized raw mango (I used tothapuri)
Salt to taste
Jaggery to taste
FOR THE MASALA:
1/2 cup grated fresh coconut
1/2 tsp coriander seeds
2 tsp urad dal
4-5 methi seeds
Pinch of turmeric pdr
4 red chillies
1 tsp oil
In oil roast coriander seeds,urad dal,methi and turmeric ,remove and fry red chillies and coconut for 5 mins
Grind all the ingredients into a fine paste and keep aside
For the tempering:
2 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
2 tsp urad dal
1 sprig of curry leaves
PROCEDURE:
- Wash and cut the raw mango into long pieces,put 1 cup water and boil it with little salt
- Once it is almost cooked add jaggery,masala paste and water if needed
- Make it boil for 5 mins and add the tempering using the mentioned ingredients
- Serve with rice and dal !!!
