Udupi Rasam Powder


INGREDIENTS: (1 cup = 250 ml)

1 cup coriander seeds / dhaniya
1/4 cup cumin seeds / jeera
1 tblsp fenugreek / methi seeds
30  red chillies (byadgi or Kashmiri)
1/2 tblsp hing / asafoetida
5-6 curry leaves
3 tsp oil

PROCEDURE:

  • In a pan put 1- 2 tsp oil and fry coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds,separately and keep aside
  • Fry till they turn golden brown and you start getting the aroma. Dont burn it
  • In the same pan add 1 tsp oil and fry red chillies till golden brown and keep aside
  • Now fry curry leaves and hing
  • Bring all the roasted ingredients to room temparature and add them to mixer grinder and blend them to a fine poder
  • Once it comes to room temperature store in an airtight container
