Aalu Matar


INGREDIENTS:

2 cups green peas
1 cup potato cut into cubes
4 chopped onions
2 chopped tomato
!/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp chilli powder
Coriander leaves
Salt to taste
4 tsp oil + for deep frying

For the masala:
2 tsp coriander seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 clove(lavang)
1/4 inch cinnamon
1/2 inch ginger
1/2 tsp khus khus
7-8 pepper corns
1/2 chopped onion
2 cardamoms------Roast all thes ingredients in 2 tsp oil and  grind to a fine paste

PROCEDURE:

  • Cook green peas with salt and 1/2 cup water 
  • Deep fry potato cubes (you can also use boiled poatato)
  • In kadai take oil and saute chopped onions till it turns to pink in colour
  • Add chopped tomato and fry well
  • Add turmeric  powder and chilli powder
  • Put the ground masala and fry well
  • Add green peas,potato cubes and salt and make it boil
  • Garnish with coriander leaves
