Moog Dal Halva
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup moong dal (green gram)
1/2 cup khova
3/4 cup ghee
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar
Generous pinch of saffron
1 tsp cardamom powder
PROCEDURE:
- Soak moong dal for 2-3 hours,wash ,drain and grind coarsely
- Make one string sugar syrup with 1 1/4 cups of water
- Heat ghee and saute dal paste
- Stir continuously over a low flame till golden brown
- Add sugar syrup andsaffron soaked in milk
- Stir till it is blended well and becomes dropping consistency
- Add khova and cook for 5 minutes
- Garnish with cardamom powder and chopped almonds
- Serve hot
