YERIYAPPA is a typical traditional konkani dish!!This is a combination of rice,coconut and jaggery, deep fried in ghee or oil.  This is my amma's recipe.She is a great cook.She is my inspiration too.


1 cup dosa rice
3 tsp toor dal
1/4 cup poha or puffed paddy
1/4 cup grated coconut
3/4 cup jaggery
Salt 1/2 tsp
1 tsp cardamom powder
oil or ghee for frying


  • Soak rice and dal for 4-5 hours  and grind to a fine paste with coconut,jaggery, salt 
  • Add cardamom powder
  • Batter consistency shoule be like dosa batter
  • Heat oil and put around2 tblsp of batter 
  • Turn it after 3-4 minutes and take out with the help of 2 laddles ,pressing it tightly
