Ghasmando


This is a typical, traditional  Konkani sweet.This is a sweet poori with the stuffing of roasted poha powder,sugar and sesame seeds.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup maida (all purpose flour)
Water to knead the dough
Oil for deep frying

for the stuffing:
2 cups Poha (beaten rice)
1 cup sugar powder
1 tsp cardamom powder
2 tsp black or white sesame seeds

PROCEDURE:

  • Mix the flour with the water as needed to make a tight dough and keep for 1/2 an hour
  • Dry roast sesame seeds  and poha separately
  • Grind poha and make a fine powder
  • Mix poha powder,cardamom powder,sesame seeds and powdered sugar and keep in a bowl
  • Devide the dough into aequal small size balls
  • Roll into a thin poori and fry both the sides(dont make it crispy)
  • Put the pooris on a tissue paper and immediately put 2-3 tsp of stuffing and fold it into quarters 
  • When it comes to room temperature store in a airtight container
