Ponsa Gharayi
This is a typical konkani delicacy prepared with ripe jackfruit,jaggery and coconut milk.Ponosu is a Konkani word for jackfruit. This typical Jackfruit payasam is called PONSA GHARAYI in konkani.
INGREDIENTS:
5 ripe jackfruit bulbs cut into pieces
2 cups coconut milk
2 tblsp semolina/ravaJaggery to taste
1 tsp cardamom powder
3 tsp ghee
Nuts and raisins roasted in ghee for garnishing
PROCEDURE:
- In a pan take 1 tsp ghee and roast jackfruit pieces for 2 minutes
- Add rava and fry for 2 minutes
- Add coconut milk, jaggery and make it boil for 5-10 minutes
- Garnish with nuts and cardamom powder
- Serve hot
