Avnas Aambe Upkari
This is a typical konkani dish prepared with mangoes and pineapple.In this dish we use a small variety of mango which is called GONT!! You can also prepare this without pineapple .This is a sweet dish ,very popular in Mangalore.
INGREDIENTS:
5 small mangoes
1/4 cup pineapple cubes
2 green chilli
Jaggery to taste
Salt to taste
2 tsp maida
For tempering:
3 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
curry leaves
2 red chillies
PROCEDURE:
- Wash and peel mangoes and crush it little with your hands
- Add 2-3 cups water,pineapple pieces,green chillies,salt,jaggery and put in a vessel
- Cook it till the mangoes and pineapple pieces are cooked
- Mix maida in 1/4 cup water and make slurry
- Add this to the curry and boil it (this makes the curry thick)
- Temper with the ingredients
