Dum peas pulav
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup basmati rice washed and soaked in water for 15 mins
5 -6 tsp oil/ghee
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 small onions sliced
1/4 cup fresh green peas
1/2 inch cinnamon piece
1 cardamom
2 cloves
3 green chillies slit
2 tblsp nuts
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp lime juice
pinch of saffron colour/turmeric pdr
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
PROCEDURE:
- In cooker heat oil / ghee and put ginger garlic paste and fry
- Add whole spices , green peas nuts and 1 1/2 cups water
- When water starts boiling add salt to taste,green chillies,garam masala,
- Put the soaked rice,lime juice, saffron colour and close the cooker lid
- Switch off the gas after 2 whistles and garnish the rice with chopped coriander leaves
- Serve hot with raita or curry
