Dum Gobi

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups gobi / cauliflower  cut into  florets 
5 tsp oil
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

FOR THE MASALA:
2 onions roughly chopped
6 flakes of garlic
2 tsp poppy seeds/ khus khus
6 cashew nuts
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
2 tsp red chilli pdr or 5 red chillies
2 cloves
cinnamon small piece
2 tsp coriander seeds/ daniya seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds /jeera
2 tblsp coconut grated
Grind the above ingredients into a fine paste
  
PROCEDURE:
  • Put the cut gobi florets in warm salt water for 10 mins
  • Marinate the florets with the masala,salt and keep for 5 mins
  • Heat oil in a pan and arrange the marinated gobi florets in it  ,put 1/4 cup water and cover with a lid 
  • Cook till gobi is cooked and garnish with chopped coriander leaves
  • Serve hot with hot roti
